Rotating an element
Select the element, then drag its rotation handle to the angle required.
Holding Shift while rotating snaps to 22.5 degree increments, which is the reliable way to reach exact angles such as 45 or 90 degrees.
How rotation affects layout
The auto-layout engine accounts for rotation when positioning and sizing elements, so rotated text stays correctly aligned within the plate rather than overflowing it.
Export
Rotation is preserved through SVG export, so the angle designed is the angle engraved. No separate step is needed before exporting.
