The Batch Bed Editor arranges plates across several designs at once, rather than one design at a time.
It suits shops running multiple jobs on the same sheet of material, where laying each design out separately would waste stock.
Starting a batch
Select Batch Export on the Designs page, which turns on selection
Tick the designs to include, two or more
Select Batch Export again to open the Batch Bed Editor
Cancel leaves selection without opening the editor.
Working across designs
Plates are grouped by design rather than mixed together. Each design's plates are laid out in turn, in the order the Designs tab lists them, with the next design starting after the one before it.
Each plate keeps its own design's layout and variable values, so combining jobs does not merge their data.
Status across the batch
The top bar carries one status badge for the whole batch, reading Mixed where the selected designs do not agree. Choosing a status from it sets every design in the batch to that status.
Exporting
Export offers the same three choices as the standard Bed Editor: SVG Beds (ZIP) and PDF under Bed Exports, and SVG Plates (ZIP) under Individual Plates. The exported file contains the combined arrangement, so the run is cut as laid out.
Export runs in the foreground, and the button is unavailable until the file is ready.
Batch files are named batch_export rather than after a design. Inside an SVG Plates (ZIP) export, each plate file is named after the design it came from.
